On days when the weather is nice, I like to do a load of laundry and hang it out to dry. (Just trying to hold off a little bit on totally trashing the planet.)
Usually, I put Charlie in his Bumbo baby seat while I do this. In the past, he would just sit and look around him, maybe reach for things, but not be very successful in getting them.
Last week, I was hanging out clothes and turned around to look at Charlie.
Yes, that is dirt. He had a whole mouthful of it. I managed to get most of it off/out of his mouth, but I don’t know how much he swallowed. I moved him to an area covered with concrete paving stones and finished hanging out the laundry.
Lately, he’s putting everything he can find in his mouth, and since he is small enough to crawl under the furniture, he is great at finding things.
